GAC Australia has confirmed the all-electric Aion UT compact hatchback as the fourth model locked in for its Australian line-up.<\/p>\n

The city-focused EV is due to arrive in local showrooms sometime between April 1 and June 30 2026.<\/p>\n

The Aion UT will become the second battery-electric vehicle offered by GAC in Australia, joining the recently launched Aion V SUV. <\/p>\n

\"20262026 GAC Aion UT.<\/p>\n

Full technical specifications, battery options and equipment details for Australian-delivered vehicles have yet to be announced. They will come closer to launch.<\/p>\n

Depending on the market, the Aion UT is offered with a choice of a 100kW or 150kW e-motor driving the front wheels, multiple LGP battery options and an NEDC driving range between 400km-500km.<\/p>\n

It measures up at 4270mm long, 1850mm wide, 1575mm high and has a 2750mm wheelbase.<\/p>\n

On the basis of all that and GAC\u2019s keen price positioning with its other Australian models, a sub-$30,000 starting price for the Aion UT is possible.<\/p>\n

Penned by GAC\u2019s Milan Design Centre, the Aion UT features a fastback profile, two-tone floating roof and pixel-style exterior graphics aimed at giving the car a playful, tech-savvy character. <\/p>\n

GAC also highlights what it describes as the world\u2019s first \u201ceyebrow-style\u201d headlamp design. Despite its compact footprint, the brand says the Aion UT will offer competitive cabin space for its segment.<\/p>\n

The confirmation of the Aion UT comes as GAC continues to roll out its broader Australian strategy. The state-owned Chinese manufacturer, formally known as Guangzhou Automobile Group, launched locally late last year with a three-model range comprising the Aion V electric SUV<\/a>, the M8 plug-in hybrid people-mover<\/a> and the Emzoom compact petrol SUV.<\/p>\n

Kevin Shu, President, GAC Australia, said, \u201cOur strategy of \u2018In Australia, For Australia\u2019, will see GAC bring more than 10 models to the Australian market in the coming five years. <\/p>\n

GAC rapid expansion in Australia will include EVs and plug-in hybrids alongside internal combustion offerings. A ute is also part of the brand\u2019s future product roadmap, along with plans to grow beyond its initial 30-dealer launch network.<\/p>\n
