Former A Current Affair reporter Benjamin McCormack has been charged with dozens of child abuse material offences, as well as breaching his child protection reporting obligations.<\/p>\n

McCormack was arrested over the weekend and charged with 65 counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material in Queensland.<\/p>\n
It is alleged this offending took place over several months last year from a home in Oxley, in Brisbane’s south.<\/p>\n
The 51-year-old has also been charged with four other offences in relation to breaching his obligations as a reportable offender under the state’s child protection laws.<\/p>\n
It is alleged he gave false and misleading information to the State Register about a carriage service start date.<\/p>\n
He is also alleged to have failed to comply with reporting conditions in relation to his digital devices and his social networking site use.<\/p>\n
Mr McCormack did not appear when his matter was briefly mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.<\/p>\n
