Last week, the story that garnered the most eyeballs<\/a> was the devastating news that Kayla Harrison was forced to pull out of her scheduled title fight against Amanda Nunes due to a nasty neck injury.<\/p>\n

UFC knockout artist Joe Pyfer wants to be the first fighter to \u201cstop\u201d Israel Adesanya \u201cin a really bad way.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

I guess he didn\u2019t see the three other times that Adesanya was stopped inside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

Gotta feel bad for Josh Allen, who got knocked out of the playoffs yet again.<\/p>\n

This Past Week in MMA History:<\/p>\n

UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes <\/a>– Jan. 14, 2012<\/p>\n

In the main event of UFC 142, Jose Aldo knocked out Chad Mendes with a brutal knee and then gave us one of the most iconic post-fight celebrations of all time when he jumped into the Rio de Janeiro crowd.<\/p>\n

UFC 142 also had one of the best knockouts of all time.<\/p>\n

UFC St. Louis: Stephens vs. Choi<\/a> – Jan. 14, 2018<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to lie, I totally forgot that Jeremy Stephens and Doo-ho Choi fought in 2018 \u2014 but after rewatching the fight, it was a banger for as long as it lasted. (Stephens stopped him in the second round).<\/p>\n

UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Penn<\/a> – Jan. 15, 2017<\/p>\n

For some reason, UFC booked Yair Rodriguez vs. B.J. Penn \u2026 after Penn came back from a three-year retirement. It did not go well for Penn.<\/p>\n

UFC Fight Night: Rockhold vs. Philippou<\/a> – Jan. 15, 2014<\/p>\n

Luke Rockhold may have lost his highly anticipated UFC debut, but eight months later, he scored his first promotional win by stopping Costas Philippou \u2014 remember him?<\/p>\n

UFC on ABC 1: Holloway vs. Kattar<\/a> – Jan. 16, 2021<\/p>\n

In 2021, UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar made history as the first mixed martial arts event ever broadcast live on ABC network television \u2014 and the card delivered, especially the main event, as Max Holloway absolutely styled on Calvin Kattar for five rounds.<\/p>\n

Ultimate Fight Night 3 – Jan. 16, 2006<\/p>\n

Before Jorge Masvidal broke the UFC record for fastest knockout of all time, Duane Ludwig held on to that record since 2006 when he knocked out Jonathan Goulet in six seconds.<\/p>\n

UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz<\/a> – Jan. 17, 2016<\/p>\n

Coming off a two-year layoff and four years since his last title fight, Dominick Cruz scored a split-decision win over T.J. Dillashaw to reclaim his UFC Bantamweight title.<\/p>\n

UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cowboy – Jan. 18, 2020<\/p>\n
