J\ufeffohn Mellencamp<\/a> has revealed the state of daughter Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer journey<\/a> in a new interview.<\/p>\n

The singer, 74, said in an interview with People<\/a> that the Real Housewives of Beverley Hills alum<\/a> has “been going through hell the last year”.<\/p>\n

He added that “she has 10 lesions in her brain … [and even though the lesions are not cancerous right now, they still interrupt her thinking, and it’s in her frontal lobe”.<\/p>\n

Last October, Teddi revealed in a hopeful update to fans on her podcast Two Ts in a Pod with \ufefffellow Real Housewives alum Tamra Judge that her cancer was “gone”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, she clarified that this does not mean she is considered to be in remission and will need to continue immunotherapy for “another couple years”.<\/p>\n

“I’m still going to be having days where I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy so I’m still fighting,” she explained.<\/p>\n

“People think just because the cancer’s gone that I can’t still get sick or whatever but I’m still in treatment so I still have a compromised immune system so I have to still be careful.”<\/p>\n

John echoed this sentiment, explaining to People that while \ufeffthe cancer may be gone, the lesions on her brain “are still there”.<\/p>\n

“That doesn’t mean she’s home free; it just means right now there’s no cancer. So she has to keep on this treatment for who knows how many years”.<\/p>\n

John added that Teddi’s “personality has changed” as a result of her cancer battle.<\/p>\n

“She’s still the same person, but she’s not the same person. It’s not fun. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Mellencamp was first diagnosed in October 2022 with stage two melanoma.<\/p>\n

The cancers later progressed to stage four and metastasized to her lungs and brain.<\/p>\n

Early last year, she revealed that doctors told her she had a “50\/50” chance<\/a> of surviving cancer.<\/p>\n

In October, she revealed that a scan revealed “no detectable cancer” but that her immunotherapy treatment would continue.<\/p>\n

She revealed she felt positive about the ongoing treatment.<\/p>\n
