{"id":423783,"date":"2026-01-19T18:49:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T18:49:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/423783\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T18:49:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T18:49:10","slug":"bryson-dechambeau-is-liv-golfs-next-big-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/423783\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryson DeChambeau Is LIV Golf\u2019s Next Big Decision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5g\">After Brooks\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/golf\/brooks-koepka-announces-will-leave-liv-golf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Koepka\u2019s announcement<\/a>\u00a0that he would not be returning for his final season on LIV Golf, the PGA Tour swooped in with a brand new rule, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/golf\/brooks-koepka-pga-tour-return-raises-questions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">which they called a \u201cReturning Member Program<\/a>,\u201d that allows reinstatement for the four LIV golfers who won majors since the league\u2019s launch.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5j\">Those golfers are Koepka, Jon Rahm, Cam Smith and Bryson DeChambeau.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5m\">According the the Tour\u2019s new program, Koepka is getting hit with a $5 million fine in the form of a charitable donation. He\u2019s also unable to earn money through the PGA Tour\u2019s player equity program, and he will have to earn his way into signature events.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-5\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5s\">So with Koepka on board, what\u2019s next?<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5v\">While Rahm and Smith are almost certainly locked into LIV for the foreseeable future, DeChambeau is a different story.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5y\">DeChambeau\u2019s contract is up after the 2026 season, and he and LIV have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-noncommittal-liv-golf-future-brooks-koepka-exit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">yet to come to terms<\/a>\u00a0on a new deal.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"61\">Could Koepka\u2019s move to lead to a snowball effect? Could DeChambeau possibly forgo his final year at LIV?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"64\">LIV is facing a crossroads.
