{"id":424096,"date":"2026-01-19T22:03:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T22:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/424096\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T22:03:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T22:03:19","slug":"arctic-gateway-centreport-waa-sign-agreement-winnipeg-free-press","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/424096\/","title":{"rendered":"Arctic Gateway, CentrePort, WAA sign agreement \u2013 Winnipeg Free Press"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three prominent transportation networks, alongside the provincial and federal governments, have signed a commitment to work in a more integrated fashion as global trade ties shift.<\/p>\n<p>Arctic Gateway Group \u2014 which owns the Hudson Bay Railway and Port of Churchill \u2014 inked a memorandum of understanding Monday with CentrePort Canada and the Winnipeg Airports Authority.<\/p>\n<p>The new agreement outlines a single-window access to services and business connections. This means AGG, WAA and CentrePort will co-ordinate to move their clients\u2019 goods throughout the province.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/3908810_web1_260119-MB-trade-alliance-0250.jpg\" data-pswp- data-pswp-width=\"2048\" data-pswp-height=\"1366\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/3908810_web1_260119-MB-trade-alliance-0250.jpg\" alt=\"Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses (right) and Chris Avery, president and CEO, Arctic Gateway Group sign the memorandum of understanding. (Mike Deal \/ Free Press)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll three of us plan to act as one office,\u201d Chris Avery, chief executive of Arctic Gateway Group, said. \u201cWhen someone comes to (one of) us, you get all three.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Enhancing foreign trade zone access and usage, and supporting the ongoing development of Winnipeg\u2019s inland port, airport and the Port of Churchill and Hudson Bay railway, are included in the memorandum.<\/p>\n<p>AGG, WAA and CentrePort have been talking nearly daily over the past year, CentrePort Canada president Carly Edmundson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s only going to continue now that we\u2019ve put some real specific strategy around what we want to achieve together,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s just about resilience and optionality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic, labour disputes and environmental catastrophes have contributed to supply chain disruptions over the past decade.
