THE last Supercar raced by Hall of Famer Marcos Ambrose is set to make a return to the track at March\u2019s Phillip Island Penrite 100 Classic.<\/p>\n

The Xbox Ford Falcon FG X was driven by Ambrose and Scott Pye<\/a> at the 2015 Gold Coast 600 for DJR Team Penske and marked the former\u2019s last race appearance in the category.<\/p>\n

It will be driven at Phillip Island in the 5 Litre Touring Cars SuperSprint by Chris Stillwell, part owner of Supercars squad, Tickford Racing.<\/p>\n

The Melbourne-based Ford team underwent an ownership change late last year with a private equity buy-in and Stillwell \u2013 who has served as the team\u2019s chairman \u2013 becoming a part owner.<\/a><\/p>\n

Stillwell will be on double duty at Phillip Island, also driving his ex-B&H Ford Sierra RS500 in the Heritage Touring Cars category.<\/p>\n

His Xbox Falcon FG X has had a unique life. It started its racing career as a DJR Wilson Security car in 2014 before being used by Ambrose in Adelaide in Shell Helix colours in 2015.<\/p>\n

Ambrose, a two-time Supercars Champion, was inducted into the Supercars Hall of Fame in Adelaide late last year and returned to Australia in 2015 to team with DJR Team Penske upon Roger Penske\u2019s organisation joining forces with Dick Johnson<\/a>\u2019s famous local operation.<\/p>\n

The Tassie ace made the decision to step down from full-time driving in the #17 car after only a handful of events behind the wheel. He did return to co-drive at the endurance races with Pye.<\/p>\n

The car they drove at the Gold Coast that year was restored to its Xbox livery by rival Ford team Tickford Racing and its Tickford Engineering arm in 2024 and was offered for sale later that year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Tickford had acquired it in 2022 for Zak Best<\/a> to drive in that year\u2019s Dunlop Super2 Series given the Mustang wasn\u2019t yet eligible for the feeder series.<\/p>\n

The Phillip Island Penrite 100 Classic will be held on March 13-15 with tickets on sale here online now.<\/a><\/p>\n

The event will be live streamed for the first time this year by Blend Line TV, with further details to be confirmed in the near future.<\/p>\n
