The defeat leaves the team rooted to the bottom of the table, seven points adrift of safety and with just two wins from eighteen matches. Fofana had scored nearly half their league goals (six of fifteen).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Fofana\u2019s return will free up a foreign-loan spot, which should be helpful for any remaining transfer machinations in the final two weeks of the January transfer window. Should he leave for good \u2014 he\u2019s been linked most notably with Celtic and Derby County \u2014 he will leave with just four Chelsea appearances and zero goals to his name, but probably with a small profit margin on the books (you\u2019ll never sing that), following his \u20ac12m signing in January 2022.
