That evening, the 29-year-old will face Isi \u201cDoxz\u201d Fitikefu<\/a> in a welterweight MMA showdown<\/a> inside Bangkok\u2019s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.<\/p>\n

Mann knows this will be a test unlike anything he\u2019s experienced before, and he\u2019s left nothing to chance in his latest fight camp.<\/p>\n

While the physical grind has been business as usual \u2014 grueling sparring sessions, technical drilling, strength and conditioning work \u2014 the Arkansas native has taken a more focused approach to something deeper over the past weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of my big focuses \u2014 it\u2019s not really a style \u2014 is focusing on my mental state. I know it might sound silly, but whether it\u2019s jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, or whatever, I always push to a point where I truly want to quit, until I\u2019m very uncomfortable and miserable. But afterwards, I love it.\u201d<\/p>\n

That mental edge will come in handy against someone of Fitikefu\u2019s caliber.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Australian-Tongan veteran doesn\u2019t just show up on fight night. He brings violence, physicality, and an unrelenting pace that has broken opponents.<\/p>\n

Mann has studied the Sydney-based athlete to the fullest extent, and what he\u2019s discovered is a fighter whose strengths create a dangerous puzzle that demands respect:<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of his biggest strengths is his physical strength. You can see he\u2019s a dog. He\u2019s gritty. He\u2019s got great wrestling. He\u2019s very stubborn. I\u2019ve studied this guy, man. I like the way he fights, honestly.<\/p>\n

\u201cApart from that, I think his best skill is his forward pressure. His striking, it\u2019s good. His grappling is also good. It sets his striking up. I think that\u2019s one of his strengths, too. His grappling makes his striking better.\u201d<\/p>\n

While impressed by Fitikefu\u2019s arsenal, the warrior from the Deep South is confident he has what it takes to move to a perfect 7-0 in his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I might be able to get a finish in the third round, but I\u2019m going for a first-round finish. I don\u2019t come to the ring looking for a decision. I want to finish. Wherever there\u2019s an opportunity, I\u2019m going for the finish.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, I think I have a little bit of a striking advantage in certain areas, but it\u2019s my responsibility to exploit that and set it up.
