{"id":426176,"date":"2026-01-20T20:22:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T20:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/426176\/"},"modified":"2026-01-20T20:22:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T20:22:11","slug":"lindblad-goes-off-in-brand-new-racing-bulls-f1-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/426176\/","title":{"rendered":"Lindblad goes off in brand-new Racing Bulls F1 car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Formula 1 newcomer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/arvid-lindblad\/953485\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Arvid Lindblad<\/a> went off when shaking down <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/alphatauri-36471\/36471\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Racing Bulls<\/a>\u2019 2026 car in Imola on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Racing Bulls opted to give its VCARB 03 a maiden run at Autodromo Enzo e Dino <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/ferrari\/36466\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ferrari<\/a>, less than 15km away from the team\u2019s Faenza factory.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to F1\u2019s new chassis and engine regulations, the Red Bull Ford-powered machinery was sporting the livery unveiled in Detroit on 15 January and was equipped with full-wet demonstration tyres amid continuous rain.<\/p>\n<p>Only three laps were allowed for such a \u2018Demonstration event\u2019, which is limited to 15km with current cars.<\/p>\n<p>A few teething problems occurred in the morning, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/liam-lawson\/841994\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Liam Lawson<\/a> took to the track at 12:26pm under his rookie team-mate\u2019s watchful eye, completing an installation lap.<\/p>\n<p>The car appeared very similar to what was seen on the livery renders. The trapezoidal airbox stands out, as does the nose, which dives very close to the front wing\u2019s main plane. The sidepod inlets are extremely narrow \u2013 a solution that was seen on all cars that have run so far. A pushrod layout is used for both front and rear suspensions and will remain for the Barcelona test from 26-30 January.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/racing-bulls-vcarb03.jpg\" alt=\"Racing Bulls VCARB 03\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Racing Bulls VCARB 03<\/p>\n<p class=\"photographer\">Photo by: Jacopo Rava<\/p>\n<p>Lindblad took over later on but lost control of the car in the Villeneuve chicane, ending up in the gravel.
