A man wanted in connection with the stabbing of an 18-year-old woman in Melbourne’s inner suburbs early today has been found dead in the state’s north-west.<\/p>\n
Detectives were searching for the Camberwell man after the woman was stabbed multiple times outside a home on Miller Grove in Kew about 1am.<\/p>\n
His body was found about five hours later by police in Antwerp, east of Nhill in the Wimmera region, after a Triple Zero (000) call.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The circumstances of the death are unclear, but police say they are not treating it as suspicious.<\/p>\n
Superintendent Wayne Cheesman told the Nova radio network that the woman was coming home from a night out with a friend when she was attacked.<\/p>\n
“She gets dropped off at her residence in Kew and there’s a male who is known to her \u2014 he’s also of similar age \u2014 and he approaches her in her driveway as she’s about to enter the family home and he stabs her multiple times,” he said.<\/p>\n
