Angus Crichton<\/a> has reportedly agreed to a bombshell code switch in a bid to play for the Wallabies<\/a> at the 2027 Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n

According to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, the Roosters, Kangaroos and NSW star will play in the NRL in 2026 before taking up a one-year deal with Rugby Australia in 2027.<\/p>\n

Crichton was a schoolboys rugby star and many of his best friends are in the 15-man game.<\/p>\n

RA is yet to confirm the deal but Crichton will play for the Waratahs and is being viewed as a potential inside centre or loose forward.<\/p>\n

“I haven’t played the sport in 10 years, so I’d be interested to see where I stack up,” he said recently.<\/p>\n

“It would be a different path, something that I’m open to.”<\/p>\n

Crichton will follow fellow Roosters guns Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii<\/a> and Joseph Manu<\/a> in switching to rugby.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old spoke about the temptation of joining them in September.<\/p>\n

“I think I’m getting to the age now where I’m getting a bit older, and I want to do what’s right for my family. I’ve got to try and set myself up the best I can,” Crichton said.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, I love the club (Roosters) and am grateful for what I’ve been able to achieve.<\/p>\n
