An encounter with a popular rock star has been etched permanently on one Perth mum, who revealed she had gotten the singer\u2019s autograph tattooed on her ahead of his Northbridge show.<\/p>\n

Melanie Parsons is a 50-year-old mum of two who was introduced to British rockstar Yungblud through her sons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love him, I think he\u2019s fantastic \u2014 I really sort of resonate with his music and the way he comes across with his words, plus there are lots of influences from the old rock stars,\u201d she told PerthNow.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe went off the rails but he found himself, and you can just see this development of him as a human being and a man \u2014 and I see that in both my kids as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her love for the rockstar prompted Melanie to tease her kids that she might get a tattoo for the 28-year-old \u2014 but only if she was able to meet him.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old then shared the \u201ccrazy\u201d idea with friends on Facebook, saying \u201cyou only live once\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a goal of mine just to prove to my kids that you can do anything if you really want to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Yungblud had shared the exact time the plane would arrive in Perth on his socials \u2014 giving Melanie a perfect opportunity to chase her dream.<\/p>\n

The mum-of-two descended on Perth Airport alongside an estimated 200 fans on Monday afternoon for a chance to meet the IDOLS singer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all waiting at the exit gate, they had some security and police around but the crowd was really good and really polite,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYungblud walked out and the crowd followed him \u2014 he signed hats and a few things, then they ushered him out faster.<\/p>\n

\u201cI managed to scoot around the side and catch him just at the end, when I asked him to sign my arm.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being able to battle the crowd for some face-to-face time with the globally renowned rocker was only the first step of Melanie\u2019s plan \u2014 the next part involved finding an artist able to tattoo the signature onto her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI put the call out on Facebook to see if my friends had any friends (that could tattoo it), but I went into Foothills Electric (in Byford) on Tuesday as soon as they opened and they were booked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I said how important it was, that I needed to have a tattoo before the concert, they quickly set the studio up and were able to tattoo it pretty much immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

With her new ink, Melanie was ready to join the estimated 4000 concert attendees in a night of rocking out at Ice Cream Factory.<\/p>\n

The mum said the two-hour concert was a \u201cphenomenal\u201d show.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the whole everything \u2014 from the stage, to the crew, to his stage presence, he really is a rock star,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Yungblud fans) are just such a lovely, kind group of people, you\u2019ve got some younger and some older people there but we\u2019re all there for the same reason: because we can resonate with these songs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s Dom\u2019s music, the intense emotions from his words and his insane ability to orchestrate your emotions through the storylines of the songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Melanie also revealed the rocker showed extra love to those younger fans, who weren\u2019t allowed into the concert due to Ice Cream Factory\u2019s strict 18+ policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were a lot of underage fans that would have loved to attend, they got a sneak peek through a little bit of an opening at the edge \u2014 Yungblud noticed them and acknowledged that he could see them outside the crowd.<\/p>\n

Melanie doesn\u2019t just love the singer\u2019s rock n roll tunes, however, with her praising his work in destigmatising mental health discussions.<\/p>\n

Yungblud has spoken publicly on many occasions about being formally diagnosed with ADHD, the same diagnosis held by one of Melanie\u2019s children, and the impacts that diagnosis has on his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s leading a bit of a cultural revolution in both music and mental health,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a misfit, he had his little crew of misfit followers, and he\u2019s just grown up \u2014 seeing him guide all these misfits into adulthood, and all the good things he\u2019s doing is just so important.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could just see him taking the youth on a journey of self development.<\/p>\n
