New York \u2014 Taylor Swift,<\/a> Kiss\u2019 Gene Simmons<\/a> and Paul Stanley, Christopher \u201cTricky\u201d Stewart, Alanis Morissette<\/a> and Kenny Loggins make up the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame<\/a> inductees.<\/p>\n

Swift\u2019s songwriting has undeniably shaped contemporary pop music trends \u2014 and she\u2019ll no doubt bring extra attention to this year\u2019s new class.<\/p>\n

Kiss founders Simmons and Stanley \u2014 fresh off the band\u2019s farewell \u2014 will also be recognized for their glam rock classics \u201cRock and Roll All Nite\u201d and \u201cI Love It Loud.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Swift, Simmons and Stanley, nominees this year include the soft rock legend Loggins (\u201cFootloose,\u201d \u201cDanny\u2019s Song\u201d), the alt-rock icon Morissette (\u201cYou Oughta Know,\u201d \u201cIronic\u201d) and the game-changing R&B songwriter, producer and rapper Christopher \u201cTricky\u201d Stewart, best known for work like Rihanna\u2019s \u201cUmbrella,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cSingle Ladies\u201d and \u201cBreak My Soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held June 11 in New York City.<\/p>\n

The Hall annually inducts performers and nonperformers alike. This year, the latter category includes the duo Terry Britten and Graham Lyle (Tina Turner\u2019s \u201cWhat\u2019s Love Got To Do With It.\u201d)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also not uncommon for performers to gain entry after multiple nominations. Walter Afanasieff, who helped Mariah Carey<\/a> with her smash \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You,\u201d was previously nominated in the 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame class. He didn\u2019t make the cut then, but this year, will be inducted.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe music industry is built upon the incredible talent of songwriters who create unforgettable songs. Without their artistry, there would be no recorded music, concert experiences, or engaged fans. Everything originates from the song and its creator,\u201d Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman Nile Rodgers<\/a> said in a statement. \u201cThis year\u2019s lineup not only showcases iconic songs but also celebrates unity across various genres.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Songwriters Hall of Fame was established in 1969 to honor those creating popular music. A songwriter with a notable catalog of songs qualifies for induction 20 years after the first commercial release of a song.<\/p>\n

Some already in the hall include Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Brian Wilson, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Carole King, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, Lionel Richie, Bill Withers, Neil Diamond, Phil Collins, R.E.M., Steely Dan, Dean Pitchford, Hillary Lindsey and Timbaland.<\/p>\n
