The men\u2019s tennis no. 1 has been seen practicing his swing and heard talking about the game on my occasions. We also know that Rafael Nadal is a golfer, even (somewhat dubiously) crediting the game for his otherworldly fitness. One tennis great we have rarely seen on the links, however, is Roger Federer. The smooth Swiss maestro always seemed like a natural fit for the game of golf but never showed much interest during his playing career.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday at the Australian Open, however, Alcaraz revealed that he recently played a round with Federer. Asked how Federer\u2019s fledgling golf game was, Alcaraz delivered a fantastic answer. Who did you play golf with?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlos: \u201cI was lucky to play with Roger. Everything he does, he does in style, really beautiful. On the golf course, it\u2019s a really beautiful swing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apparently Fed\u2019s move isn\u2019t just easy on the eyes, either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s been playing two years now, and his level is really, really good\u201d Alcaraz continued. \u201cI\u2019ve been playing for five, and he\u2019s already beating me. It hurts, yeah. [laughter]\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve all been there and know how tough that can be, but Alcaraz is not focused on his budding golf rivalry Federer \u2026 at least not this week. The Spaniard defeated Yanick Hanfmann on Wednesday to advance to the third round. A win in Melbourne next weekend would complete Alcaraz\u2019s career grand slam at the age of 22, five years younger than the Swiss legend when he completed the same feat.
