A SMALL group personal training facility for women is being proposed for premises in central Greenock.<\/p>\n

Sophi Binnie of Do It All Coaching has applied for permission to change the use of the glazier\u2019s building at 55 Regent Street, beside Coral bookmakers.<\/p>\n

Training sessions would be limited to one-to-one and two-to-one personal training or small groups with a maximum of five clients at any one time.<\/p>\n

In a statement submitted to Inverclyde planning officers, she explained: \u201cI am a young single mother, teacher and personal trainer who has grown my fitness coaching business significantly over the past year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis application represents the next step in establishing a sustainable, professional space where I can continue to support my clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe studio is intended to be a safe, private, and supportive environment for women and young girls, particularly those who may feel anxious or uncomfortable in large commercial gyms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not a public facility, but a private training space aimed at encouraging confidence, wellbeing, and long-term health.<\/p>\n

\u201cGranting this change of use would allow me to continue developing my business
responsibly, while contributing positively to the local area through a low-impact,
community-focused use.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be no open-access gym use, no large classes, and no drop-in sessions. Client attendance will be staggered by appointment only, ensuring low footfall and minimal impact on the surrounding area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hours of operation would be Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, and Saturday\/Sunday: 10am to 2pm.<\/p>\n
