Steven Gerrard<\/a> has the same frustration with Arne Slot<\/a>\u2018s interviews as many other Liverpool fans, urging the head coach to \u201cstop talking about low blocks.\u201d<\/p>\n

It has become a tiresome theme of Liverpool\u2019s season: not only do they struggle to break down low blocks, but Slot will point that out before and after almost every game.<\/p>\n

That does not make it any less true, but it is the view of many supporters that it is on the head coach to find solutions and not continually point out his side\u2019s flaws.<\/p>\n

Speaking during TNT Sports<\/a>\u2018 coverage of Liverpool\u2019s 3-0 win over Marseille \u2013 one of the rare occasions in which they did not come up against a deep-sitting defence \u2013 Gerrard shared that opinion.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe needs to stop talking about low blocks,\u201d the former captain said.<\/p>\n

\"MARSEILLE,<\/p>\n

\u201cLow blocks have been happening against Liverpool ever since I played, and many years before me. That\u2019s just the way it is.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeams are going to do that, they\u2019re going to try everything they can to try to stop Liverpool.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe key is you have to find the solutions. With the players, you will then turn those \u2018low-block games\u2019 into wins rather than draws.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s not going to change. It\u2019s what this team is going to face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re probably going to face a low block at times against Bournemouth<\/a> at the weekend, but they\u2019ve got to be ruthless \u2013 and the big players have got to step forward and score the goals to win the games, because they are difficult to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

There is a sense that, with the Premier League<\/a> morphing into a more physical, less open, low-scoring league, it may be that Liverpool\u2019s best route to success this season is in the Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beat Qarabag next week and they are assured of a place in the last 16, and Gerrard believes Slot has a squad capable of winning the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still an awful lot for this Liverpool team to play for,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FA Cup<\/a> is huge, finishing in the top four is huge, but even more important is this Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n
