{"id":430946,"date":"2026-01-22T23:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T23:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/430946\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T23:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T23:02:08","slug":"allan-alaalatoa-sidelined-for-beginning-of-super-rugby-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/430946\/","title":{"rendered":"Allan Alaalatoa sidelined for beginning of Super Rugby season"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Wallabies prop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/allan-alaalatoa\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Allan Alaalatoa<\/a> will miss the start of the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/super-rugby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Super Rugby Pacific<\/a> season due to an ongoing back injury.<\/p>\n<p>The injury has been managed for the past six months and appears to carry an uncertain recovery timeline.<\/p>\n<p>Consultation with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/brumbies\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brumbies<\/a> and Rugby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/australia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australia<\/a> medical staff, and specialists, concluded that the injury requires ongoing rehabilitation, leaving the Brumbies without their star tighthead for at least the team\u2019s season opener against the Western <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/force\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Force<\/a> on February 14.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing Allan won\u2019t be available for the start of the season but it also provides an opportunity for the other props in our program to step up and perform for the Brumbies,\u201d said ACT Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know Allan will continue to provide his leadership and experience to the group to help them prepare.
