Morant landed on Memphis\u2019 injury report on Thursday with a UCL sprain in his left elbow, putting him out at least for Friday\u2019s contest vs. the Pelicans. The Grizzlies will be in action again against the Nuggets on Sunday, so we\u2019ll see if Morant is available to compete in that game.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5t\">Morant suffered the elbow injury during Wednesday night\u2019s loss to the Hawks when he hit the backboard after attempting a block. He didn\u2019t seem concerned about the injury when speaking to media after the game, though.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5w\">\u201cIt was just like a little sting, funny bone,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/story\/sports\/nba\/grizzlies\/2026\/01\/22\/ja-morant-injury-trade-update-grizzlies-pelicans-basketball\/88308115007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Morant said<\/a>. \u201cI was good though.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-4\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5z\">This injury comes at an unfortunate time for Morant, as he was just on the injury report for a calf issue earlier this month. He\u2019s only competed in 20 of 42 games this season because of various injuries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/ja-morant-receives-suspension-comments-toward-grizzlies-coaching-staff\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and a suspension<\/a>. Wednesday night was just his second game back from his recent injury. And, now, Morant is dealing with a separate issue that put him back on the injury report.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"65\">There\u2019s still a good chance the Grizzlies will move on from Morant in the coming weeks, if Memphis hears an offer they\u2019re interested in pursuing. Depending on how long he\u2019s expected to be out with the UCL sprain, Morant could\u2019ve possibly played his final game with Memphis. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/ja-morant-gave-three-word-response-grizzlies-trade-rumors\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">He hasn\u2019t spoken much about the trade rumors<\/a>, but he did remind reporters of his loyalty to the Grizzlies during a press conference last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/ja-morant-tattoo-trade-rumors\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">citing the tattoo of the team\u2019s logo he has on his back<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"68\">In Wednesday night\u2019s loss to the Hawks, Morant put up a team-high 23 points and 12 assists.
