Alexa Grasso\u2019s former rival set to replace her vs. Rose Namajunas in UFC 324 fight<\/a><\/p>\nNamajunas is a two-time UFC strawweight champion and while her career has been full of ups and downs, she has a real opportunity here to prove she\u2019s still at the championship level. Of course, she can\u2019t afford to overcome a very game Silva, who will be hunting down the gold herself.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview, Namajunas opened up and gave an interesting analysis of Natalia\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, Joanna, she doesn\u2019t throw as many dynamic strikes as Natalia, and I think Natalia has more power than Joanna does, so you have to be very cognizant of that,\u201d Namajunas told MMA Junkie Radio.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut as far as her sort of more of a defensive style, not that Joanna wasn\u2019t, I don\u2019t think she was as defensive. She was more in your face than Natalia is, but in terms of, in the sense that so many girls fight her and they\u2019re just waiting for the opportunity to try to take her down. Like they\u2019ve already lost the fight before it began, because they don\u2019t believe in their striking enough to have a mixed martial arts fight with them.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I feel like even when they do get close, they can try to grab her or something, and she pops right back up, or they can\u2019t get her to the ground, they get like deflated and defeated in that, and then she can style on them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like in that aspect, it\u2019s very similar to Joanna in the same sense where Joanna, she definitely defeated a lot of people because they didn\u2019t believe in their striking, and I believe in my striking 100 percent. Obviously, that\u2019s my bread and butter.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a great mixed martial artist, and obviously I have a lot of submission wins, and my jiu-jitsu is amazing and my wrestling too, but I love to strike. I love to move. I love to make people miss, and I love to make them pay for their mistakes. So, you know, that\u2019s what I\u2019ll be looking to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
