{"id":432224,"date":"2026-01-23T13:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/432224\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T13:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:02:10","slug":"west-coast-eagles-player-tyler-brockman-charged-with-assault-after-geraldton-fracas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/432224\/","title":{"rendered":"West Coast Eagles player Tyler Brockman charged with assault after Geraldton fracas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">West Coast Eagles player Tyler Brockman has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after he allegedly hit a teenager in an early morning fight in Geraldton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Video footage emerged late last month appearing to show Mr Brockman engaged in a fight involving a group of people in the West Australian port city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">One man reportedly had their jaw broken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Police said at the time they were investigating the fracas, while the Eagles released a statement saying they were aware of the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;The club is providing support to Tyler while working to gather all relevant information about the incident and is unable to make any further comment at this time,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Friday afternoon, the club revealed police had charged Mr Brockman over the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Teen assaulted<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Police allege that about 3.50am on Sunday December 28, Mr Brockman struck a man in his late teens in the Geraldton suburb of Drummond Cove.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A man holds a football amid a crowd of stadium fans\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/b684c5d38a5a05ce72d2896545856105.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Tyler Brockman during a match at Perth Stadium in 2024.
