And it doesn\u2019t matter how he plays.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/scottie-scheffler-pga-tour-amex-100-million\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scottie Scheffler is a start away from this INSANE benchmark<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Scheffler is making his 2026 PGA Tour debut at the American Express, but this will be his 141st consecutive week being No.1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Woods holds the record for consecutive weeks atop the OWGR with 281, set from June 12, 2005 to October 30, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler began his latest and fourth overall stint at World No.1 on May 21, 2023. As the X account <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SchefflerLegion\" rel=\"nofollow\">TrackingScheffler<\/a> notes, he would need to stay No.1 until October 16, 2028 to break Woods\u2019 record.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Scottie Scheffler begins his 140th consecutive week at OWGR No. 1 this week<\/p>\n<p>He is just under halfway to Tiger&#8217;s record of 281 weeks in a row\u2013 which means he would have that record on Monday, October 16th 2028 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/84fEElsvUo\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/84fEElsvUo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TrackingScheffler (@SchefflerLegion) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SchefflerLegion\/status\/2013623369128649136?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 20, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, Scheffler still has a long way to go, but it doesn\u2019t seem that crazy at this point. Especially when you consider how dominant he\u2019s been, winning the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award each of the past four years.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Woods also holds the record for total weeks at World No.1 with 683. With Scheffler at 175, that means the 29-year-old needs to stay atop the ranking for about another decade to top that.
