DAY 7 PREVIEW<\/p>\n
Dangerous heat has arrived in Melbourne forcing the Australian Open to reschedule matches on Saturday.<\/p>\n
What was expected to be another record-setting day at Melbourne Park, after over 100,000 people flocked to the tournament on multiple days during the week, may be impacted with a predicted top of 40 degrees.<\/p>\n
As a precaution matches were rescheduled with gates opening at 9am, play beginning at 10am on the outside courts, and then at 10:30am on the show courts.<\/p>\n
An extra women\u2019s match has been scheduled for Margaret Court Arena in the day session to try and avoid the peak temperatures in the evening.<\/p>\n

Under the Australian Open Heat Stress scale factors including radiant heat, air temperature, humidity and wind speed will all be measured to determine whether play must be halted.<\/p>\n
On day two of the 2023 tournament, play on the outside courts stopped at around 2pm when temperatures reached 35 degrees.<\/p>\n
Roofs will be closed on the main three courts if required and fans have been warned to take extra precautions.<\/p>\n
