Series features characters created by Sanrio<\/a> as collab with Japanese boy band JO1<\/a><\/p>\n

The staff for the anime<\/a> of JOCHUM<\/a>, the characters created by Sanrio<\/a> as a collaboration with Japanese boy band JO1<\/a>, revealed on Monday the anime is getting a second season that will debut on October 4 and will air within Fuji TV<\/a>‘s Mezamashi Doy\u043e\u0304bi (Mezamashi Saturday, or literally, Wake Up Saturday) program, which airs from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. <\/p>\n

Hazumu Sakuta<\/a> (Sumikko Gurashi Sorairo no Mainichi<\/a>) is returning to direct the new season at Fanworks<\/a> (Aggretsuko<\/a>). Yoichi Kato<\/a> (Y\u014dkai Watch<\/a>) is returning to write and oversee the series scripts.<\/p>\n

The one-minute short anime began airing in summer 2024 within Fuji TV’s Mezamashi Doy\u043e\u0304bi program.<\/p>\n

The first anime series starred:\n<\/p>\n

The 11 JOCHUM characters consist of PiHai the black fox (representing JO1 member Sukai Kinjo), Rain the blue fox (Ren Kawashiri), Micoon the microphone (Junki K\u014dno<\/a>), Chimata the rabbit (Syoya Kimata), Ya-nu-ka-mi the dragon (Sh\u043e\u0304 Yonashiro), MAMEchi the corgi (Issei Mamehara), Pop-poh the penguin (Takumi Kawanishi<\/a>), Chulala the chihuahua (Shion Tsurubo), Moco the angel (Sh\u043e\u0304hei \u041e\u0304hira), Ruru the white dog (Ruki Shiroiwa<\/a>), and Bira the sunflower (Keigo Sat\u043e\u0304). The characters all live in a single big house.<\/p>\n

The JO1 idol group was formed during the Produce 101 Japan reality show in 2019. The band debuted in 2020, and Sanrio collaborated to create the JOCHUM characters in 2022. They have performed theme songs for The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse<\/a>, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations<\/a>, and Fanfare of Adolescence<\/a>.<\/p>\n
