Image: Bruce Jenkins<\/p>\n<p>Moments before the race, speaking with presenter Greg Rust, the Mexican remarked \u2013 \u201cJust gonna send it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From pole position, the F1 junior led the field into the left-hand sweeper before spinning.<\/p>\n<p>Rovera\u2019s race lasted just a few hundred metres, with his M2 Competition car buried in the gravel trap.<\/p>\n<p>That released Freddie Slater into the lead, who dominated the 25-lapper.<\/p>\n<p>The M2 driver led TGR Hitech trio Jin Nakamura, Kalle Rovanpera, and Kanato Le.<\/p>\n<p>For WRC champion Rovanpera, it was his first single-seater podium \u2013 eclipsing his previous-best ninth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was probably the most fun I\u2019ve had,\u201d said Slater.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA wet track on a track like that with so much risk, you\u2019re just flirting with the limits the whole way around.
