Partizan’s situation isn’t the best. Despite beating Hapoel Tel Aviv in one of the best games of the season, the Belgrade team is near the bottom of the EuroLeague standings (8-16).

Following Obradovic‘s departure, Peñarroya is the new coach. Ostoja Mijailovic, president of Partizan, spoke about the team’s problems, singling out a couple of players.

“Partizan’s problem is called Jabari Parker, let’s not lie. Parker and Milton have almost five million gross“, he said, according to Mozzart Sport.

“How do you think we should terminate his contract? If we terminate it tomorrow, we have to pay him five million at once; that’s how we do it in installments. When he has a two-year contract, it’s paid monthly, and when it’s terminated, it has to be paid immediately“, Mijailovic added.

He commented that, instead of terminating his contract, the coach did what he had to do. “That’s the coach’s job, and I think he kicked him off the team“, he commented.

He also spoke about a possible “sabotage” of Zeljko Obradovic from within the locker room, pointing to a possible culprit who has already left Belgrade. “We dismissed the player we believed had done it,” he said, referring to Tyrique Jones.

By Javier Molero/ jmolero@eurohoops.net Partizan’s situation isn’t the best.
