Mitch Starc is out at No. 11 to face the final ball of the innings. He works a single down to long-off, but\u00a0Ben Dwarshuis is run out returning for a second.<\/p>\n

The Sixers all out for what looks to be a severely under-par 132.<\/p>\n

That was a really ugly innings for the men in magenta.<\/p>\n

Steve Smith aside, who played some sweet shots but ultimately departed for 24 (13), I can’t recall too many balls finding the centre of the bat.<\/p>\n

The Sixers heaved and swung, mistimed and miscued as the Scorchers squeezed brilliantly.<\/p>\n

English veteran David Payne undoubtedly the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3-18 from his four overs with a slower ball clinic.<\/p>\n

The Scorchers require 133 for a record-extending sixth BBL crown.<\/p>\n

Sean Abbot works a single to get off strike and it’s Ben Dwarshuis who has the responsibility of pushing the Sixers to as close to 140 as possible.<\/p>\n

He works a well run two and then digs out a well directed Mahli Beardman yorker down to long-off for a single.<\/p>\n

Three balls remaining.<\/p>\n

It’s a very slow slower ball from Jhye Richardson and Joel Davies is made to look a bit silly.<\/p>\n

He under edges the ball onto the stumps and Perth Stadium erupts.<\/p>\n

For the second time in as many overs, Davies makes his way from the middle.<\/p>\n

He gets a lot of it – but not enough.<\/p>\n

Cooper Connolly completes a wonderful catch, diving behind him.<\/p>\n

But…<\/p>\n

It looked like Connolly, although with ball safely in hand, may have touched the grass before he had completed the catch.<\/p>\n

And yep, the television umpire agrees. Davies is called back as boos echo around Perth Stadium.<\/p>\n

Not out.<\/p>\n

Well, that power surge went about as horribly as it could have for the Sixers.<\/p>\n

They lose three wickets and begin the 17th over of the innings on 6-104.<\/p>\n

Runs! And some much needed runs for the Sixers. A thick edge from Joel Davies flies past the ‘keeper and to the fence for four.<\/p>\n

Davies picks up a couple.<\/p>\n

A massive few overs ahead for the precociously talented allrounder.<\/p>\n

Ben Manenti mis times a baseball shot horribly, but the ball falls safe into the off-side and the batters run a single.<\/p>\n
