EDMONTON \u2014 Connor McDavid<\/a> scored 46 seconds into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> held on for a wild 6-5 win over the Washington Capitals<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Evan Bouchard<\/a> scored his first NHL hat trick and added three assists in his 400th regular-season contest. McDavid tallied a goal and three helpers in regulation, Zach Hyman<\/a> scored and Leon Draisaitl<\/a> contributed three helpers for the Oilers (26-19-8).<\/p>\n

It was a difficult night for Edmonton netminder Connor Ingram<\/a>, who gave up three goals on 12 shots before being replaced by Tristan Jarry<\/a> midway through the second period. Jarry made 13 saves to close out the victory.<\/p>\n

Washington got off to a slow start and didn\u2019t register a single shot on goal until the final minute of the first period.<\/p>\n

The Capitals (25-21-7) rallied with Connor McMichael<\/a> scoring and notching an assist, while Aliaksei Protas<\/a>, Justin Sourdif<\/a> and Anthony Beauvillier<\/a> all got goals. Tom Wilson<\/a> notched a pair of helpers and Charlie Lindgren<\/a> stopped 34 of the 40 shots he faced.<\/p>\n

Washington was coming off a 3-1 win over the Flames in Calgary on Friday, and are now 1-4-0 in their last five games.<\/p>\n
