Sydney Swans veteran Taylor Adams was taken to hospital after being knocked out in an incident on Saturday night outside a popular eastern suburbs hotspot. <\/p>\n
The incident took place in the Tingira Memorial Park in front of Rose Bay beach, across the road from Club Rose Bay.<\/p>\n
Adams was punched in the face with significant force that he hit the ground and was subsequently taken to St Vincent\u2019s hospital in an ambulance. <\/p>\n
In a statement provided to news.com.au, NSW Police said the two men involved in the assault were not known to Adams. <\/p>\n
\u201cJust after 10.10pm yesterday (Saturday 24 January 2026), police were called to licenced premises on Vickery Avenue, Rose Bay, following reports of an assault,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOfficers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 32-year-old man was involved in an argument and a subsequent assault with two men.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 32-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by one of the men causing a small cut to his cheek, as well as being knocked to the ground where he lost consciousness briefly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe men left prior to the arrival of police.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice have been told the two men are not known to the 32-year-old man.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 32-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincents Hospital for further treatment. Inquiries continue.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is no suggestion Adams or the other player he was with were the aggressors in the incident.<\/p>\n
The Sydney Swans said in a statement on Sunday afternoon: \u201cAdams was taken to hospital after the incident for further assessment. He was released from hospital at 7am Sunday morning and will be monitored on a daily basis. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sydney Swans does not tolerate violence in any form and is working with Adams and NSW police to identify the offender.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adams joined the Sydney Swans at the end of 2023 after missing out on selection in Collingwood\u2019s grand final win.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old was not picked in Sydney\u2019s grand final team in 2024, which the Swans lost to Geelong. <\/p>\n
Adams is heading into the last season of a three-year deal with the Swans \u2014 he played 19 games in 2024 and four games in 2025 after suffering multiple hamstring injuries. <\/p>\n
The midfielder, who has played 229 career games, also suffered an Achilles injury in December. <\/p>\n
The Swans begin their AFL season in Opening Round against Carlton on Thursday, March 5 at the SCG in a clash that will see new recruit Charlie Curnow take on his former side.<\/p>\n
