{"id":437736,"date":"2026-01-26T03:09:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T03:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/437736\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T03:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T03:09:07","slug":"two-men-dead-after-drowning-in-never-never-river-north-of-bellingen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/437736\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men dead after drowning in Never Never River north of Bellingen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Two men have drowned in the Never Never River on the NSW Mid North Coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Emergency services were called to John Locke Place at Gleniffer, north of Bellingen, at about 6:45pm on Sunday following reports of people struggling in the water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Police were told three men, all believed to be aged in their 30&#8217;s, began to struggle soon after entering the river.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The two men were pulled from the water but were unable to be revived and died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A 33-year-old man was pulled from the water and taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus with minor injuries. He remains in a stable condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A 31-year-old pregnant woman who is believed to be friends with the three men remains in the same hospital in a stable condition after being treated for shock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A crime scene has been established and a report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two men have drowned in the Never Never River on the NSW Mid North Coast.
