Gaethje is now expected to unify his belt with undisputed champion Ilia Topuria sometime later this year, but after that, maybe he\u2019ll get an opportunity for a trilogy bout with his greatest rival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Poirier and Gaethje had a memorable pair of fights in the UFC, with Poirier winning their first encounter by TKO in 2018, and Gaethje getting his revenge with a knockout in 2023, claiming the \u201cBMF\u201d title in the process.
