Paddy Pimblett\u2019s wife has provided a major health update on the Liverpool fighter after he was rushed to the hospital following an interim title fight against Justin Gaethje.<\/p>\n
Gaethje defeated Pimblett in a gruelling five-round battle at UFC 324, held at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The American secured a unanimous decision victory, with the judges scoring it 48-47, 49-46, and 49-46.<\/p>\n
Pimblett was admitted to the hospital to have his injuries treated, but was later released.<\/p>\n
Paddy\u2019s wife took to social media to provide an update on the Briton\u2019s recovery.<\/p>\n
“Us forever. For everyone asking he is absolutely fine and will be back,” she wrote.<\/p>\n
The victory ended Pimblett’s seven-fight unbeaten run in the UFC, but Gaethje praised the Liverpool fighter, giving him credit for his toughness.<\/p>\n
After the fight, Pimblett said that he dedicated the performance to his friend, whose mother passed away a couple of months ago and to Liverpool FC legend Diogo Jota and his brother, who passed away a few months ago.<\/p>\n
“Can I say a few things, though? Just a few things I wanted to say, it would’ve been better if I won like, but, my friend’s mother, Liam Gittins, like my little brother in the gym, Julie Gittins, his mum passed away a couple of months ago, so I want to dedicate that to him,\u201d Pimblett said.<\/p>\n
“Obviously, I’m a Liverpool fan, and I know there’ll be loads of Liverpool fans here, there’s a Liverpool legend what passed away in the past few months, Diogo Jota, and his brother Andre, so I’d like to dedicate that performance to them, even though I didn’t win.<\/p>\n
“I wanted to be walking away with that belt and I know how tough I am anyway. I don’t need to prove it to anyone. I wanted to leave with that belt,”<\/p>\n
