A Brisbane man says he is pulling in six figures<\/a> working for himself, revealing the surprising profession paying so well. The man shared he had been in the job<\/a> for nearly 10 years and it required you to take initiative if you wanted to get work.<\/p>\n The Queenslander was stopped on the street by jobs app Getahead<\/a>, which has gone viral online for asking people to reveal the nitty-gritty details about their jobs and what they earn. The man revealed he was a window cleaner<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHow much do I make? Anything between $120,000 to $150,000,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n RELATED<\/p>\n The median wage for Australians is $1,436 a week, or $74,672 a year before tax, putting him well above the typical wage earner.<\/p>\n The man said one of the biggest challenges of working for yourself<\/a> was simply getting the jobs to start with.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s quality control as well, making sure that everything is tip top and everything looks good and clean,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Do you have a story to share? What\u2019s the worst they can say? No,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThey could say yes. Approach people. If you don\u2019t approach people, you could sit and have no work.\u201d<\/p>\n Window cleaning can be a lucrative endeavour, with another young Brisbane man<\/a> sharing with the platform that he was earning a few thousand dollars a week running his own business focusing on home cleaning.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is very different depending on the weather. So maybe some weeks I\u2019ll make a few thousand and other weeks a lot more than that. It really depends,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
