MELBOURNE, Australia \u2013 Ben Shelton cruises into the Australian Open<\/a> quarterfinals, after four rounds of competition. In those four rounds, Shelton faced Ugo Humbert, Dane Sweeny, No. 30 Valenin Vacherot and No. 12 Casper Ruud.<\/p>\n

The former Gator dropped only one set to Ruud in the first four rounds of the Australian Open, leading him to face No. 2 Jannik Sinner in the Slam’s quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

This match up between Shelton and Sinner marks the pair’s 10th meeting in their career, where Sinner leads Shelton 8-1. Sinner currently tops the ATP Stat Leaderboards in serves, returns and pressure while Shelton ranks at No. 9 in serves and No. 5 in pressure.<\/p>\n

The last time Shelton and Sinner met was in the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals back in November, where Sinner defeated Shelton 6-3, 7-6(3). The pair will face off on Wednesday, Jan. 28.<\/p>\n
