Alas, it\u2019s the end of an era<\/a>. Almost, anyway.<\/p>\n

The lead singer of a classic hard rock group<\/a> got candid about the fact that his band will be playing its final live show<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n

Blabbermouth reports<\/a> that Gary \u201cAngry\u201d Anderson \u2014 the lead singer of beloved Australian outfit Rose Tattoo <\/a>\u2014 recently sat down with Peter Kerr of \u201cRock Daydream Nation<\/a>.\u201d It was during this interview that Anderson opened up about Rose Tattoo\u2019s pending disbandment, something which, of course, he has mixed feelings about.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I thought I was fine,\u201d he said, as transcribed by Blabbermouth. \u201cI thought when you preempt something or you have pre-knowledge, and I don\u2019t mean to be gloomy, but when you know someone \u2014 I\u2019ve just lost someone rather dear to me, yet another person, to cancer just recently, and we knew she was terminally ill.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so we had this two-years-plus leading up to it \u2014 constant treatment, talking about it, blah, blah, blah \u2014 but it didn\u2019t prepare me for the shock. And it reminded me of losing the other members of the band. We all knew, months in some cases, years ahead of time, that they were terminally ill, but when it actually happens \u2026 and that\u2019s just human nature. That\u2019s just what happens.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThree years ago, when I first went to Scot Crawford, our manager, and said, \u2018Are you aware of the fact that the band is 50 years old in a few years?\u2019, two-and-a-half years, whatever it might have been,\u201d Anderson continued. \u201cAnd he went, Yeah, yeah, yeah.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201c[At] the end of the year, when I wake up on the morning, the first morning of \u201927, I\u2019ll wake up and the band will be gone.\u201d <\/p>\n

Indeed, Parade notes<\/a> that \u2014 considering the band first formed in 1976 \u2014 it\u2019ll be half a century in 2026. Specifically, on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud to say \u2014 because I have survived all the original members, and a few along the way \u2014 we have achieved what we set out to achieve,\u201d Anderson informed Melbourne\u2019s 3AW<\/a>. \u201cAt the end of the day if you can say that you are a lucky man.\u201d<\/p>\n
