Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett collided with the interim UFC Lightweight Championship at stake. \u201cThe Highlight\u201d and \u201cThe Baddy\u201d went the distance. Gaethje earned another interim title after the judges awarded him a unanimous decision<\/a> for his efforts.<\/p>\n It was an exciting conclusion to UFC\u2019s debut event on Paramount+. Cormier, who was a color commentator for the event, weighed in on Gaethje\u2019s performance in a video posted on his YouTube channel<\/a> (via MMAJunkie<\/a>).<\/p>\n \u201cHe walked over after the fight and said, \u2018I absolutely won, right?\u2019 and I said, \u2018You are a sick son of a b*tch,\u2019 because he went ahead like the old Justin Gaethje,\u201d Cormier said. \u201cThat guy that was measured when he knocked out Dustin Poirier and beat Rafael Fiziev was long gone.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was almost like he understood the assignment: \u2018We\u2019re on Paramount. This is a new network. There are going to be new fans. We need to introduce them to what the UFC is.\u201d I think after watching that, everybody that was tuned in are going to be lifelong fans of the UFC because on the special nights, there is not a sport in the world that could compare to the UFC and tonight we had one of those special nights.\u201d<\/p>\n
