Image: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>The Finnish and Scottish F1 legends will take to the track in a McLaren Solus GT and Senna GTR, brought to Adelaide by the Lee Collection, which boasts one of Australia\u2019s largest supercar caches.<\/p>\n<p>Hakkinen, a two-time F1 champion, will pilot the Solus GT \u2013 a single-seater with a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that revs past 10,000\u202frpm, designed to provide the closest possible experience to driving an F1 car.<\/p>\n<p>Coulthard, himself a two-time Australian Grand Prix winner, will drive the track-only Senna GTR \u2013 a twin-turbo V8 supercar named in honour of Ayrton Senna.<\/p>\n<p>Only 25 Solus GTs and 75 Senna GTRs exist worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The pair were among F1\u2019s longest-serving teammates, racing together at McLaren for six seasons between 1996 and 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Their reunion in Adelaide coincides with a nationwide speaking tour, where fans will see the former rivals share stories from their turbulent and celebrated careers.<\/p>\n<p>Hakkinen and Coulthard join other F1 figures at the festival, including Valtteri Bottas, Thierry Boutsen, Stefan Johansson, and Martin Donnelly \u2013 the latter making his Adelaide debut in a Hesketh 308, the car that launched James Hunt\u2019s career.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1017651\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/DSC03403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Other highlights of the festival include continuous on-track action across multiple categories, from F1 and V8 Supercars to touring cars, sports cars, motorcycles, and drift cars, alongside off-track displays, kids\u2019 zones, food trucks, and interactive activations.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the 2026 Adelaide Motorsport Festival on February\u202f28- March\u202f1 are on sale now.<\/p>\n<p><a data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285249\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/285249.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The McLaren Solut GT will be driven by Mika Hakkinen.
