\n\tUnder Dior<\/a> gray skies and a canopy of cyclamens, Jonathan Anderson<\/a> staged his first couture<\/a> show for the house with Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence and Anya Taylor-Joy in the front row.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe trio made late entrances, with Lawrence jetting straight to her seat upon arrival.<\/p>\n

\n\tEven though she\u2019s a Dior<\/a> regular, it was Monica Barbaro\u2019s first couture<\/a> show for the house.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe\u2019s become friends with Anderson as he did the costumes for her upcoming film \u201cArtificial,\u201d costarring Andrew Garfield.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was such an interesting process because \u2026 the characters are people who you know are still alive and had these monumental things occur only a few years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWithout divulging the plot, Barbaro said working on the process of costuming with Anderson was inspirational. The characters have gone through something \u201cmonumental\u201d a few years back, so there are different time periods depicted.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo it was interesting to see how things become dated so quickly over just a span of a few years or 10 years, to look at, oh yeah, that was the trend of that specific time, and oh yeah, that person is from this part of the world, and so they dressed this way for this period of time, and then they [changed when they] became a Silicon Valley person,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cJonathan could spot an item and know exactly what brand had created it when, which is a great skill to have as a costumer. And then, also just his ability to understand shape and the body \u2014 he\u2019s a true designer as well,\u201d she added. \u201cIt was just a really interesting collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking of trends a decade ago, a trend that is popular now on TikTok, what does she remember about her 2016 style? \u201cProbably a lot of sweatpants and over-tweezing my eyebrows.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tClad in one of Anderson\u2019s first couture looks, she has come a long way.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cArtificial\u201d is directed by Luca Guadagnino for Amazon-MGM Studios, and Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos was in the house with his new bride, Lauren S\u00e1nchez Bezos.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was just happy to be invited. This is a really exciting day. It\u2019s like a dream,\u201d said Parker Posey. She hugged \u201cWhite Lotus\u201d creator Mike White. \u201cWe always get to go to the most exciting places together.\u201d The two filmed together in Thailand last year.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe framed her Dior trench look with pleated pannier hips as a \u201cvery chic detective\u201d look. The Marie-Antoinette-esque silhouette inspired her to visit Versailles the day before the show.<\/p>\n

\n\tPosey just wrapped Martin McDonagh\u2019s \u201cWild Horse Nine,\u201d costarring Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich, which will premiere in the spring.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe shoot took place on Easter Island, which she called \u201cmagical.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou\u2019re in the middle of nowhere, but everywhere you look is sky. Everything is ancient. There are no buildings, the air was incredible,\u201d she said. She went cave diving and attended a Mass with Catholic missionaries, among other incredible experiences, she relayed.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI fell in love with it. I love faraway places,\u201d she said. The actress said this is an exciting time in fashion with so many new designer changes bringing in new energy. Despite navigating the near-dark room for minutes to find her seat, she promptly left to go find artist Justin Vivian Bond, who she heard was in the crowd.<\/p>\n

\n\tRuth Wilson was sporting a deep shade of burgundy-red hair, a recently acquired color that she admitted is for reprisal of a role. Could it be \u201cLuther,\u201d costarring Idris Elba, which has been off the air since 2019? She wouldn\u2019t divulge except to say that shooting starts \u201cvery soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress added that Anderson\u2019s penchant for drama makes him a natural couturier. \u201cHe sort of lends himself to couture because he\u2019s big and bold and takes risks, and with his design and tailoring at a house like Dior, he\u2019s going to be amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDan Levy, who has been a longtime friend of Anderson\u2019s, praised the designer. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of him and how far he\u2019s come, and this is such a pinnacle of everything that he\u2019s worked so hard for, so it\u2019s unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n
