While Casemiro’s departure has already been announced, Manchester United are also expected to part ways with Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils splashed around £42 million to sign the holding midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024. A few months later, he was surprisingly reunited with his former Sporting Club head coach, Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in November.

But while this seemed to be a pleasant coincidence at first sight, it never yielded any benefits for either man. In fact, Amorim reportedly told Ugarte that he was no longer ‘the same player’ during a fiery team meeting at the end of last season.

Manuel Ugarte expected to leave Man United next summer

Last week, Casemiro announced his departure at the end of the season when his Man Utd deal will expire. But as The Athletic reports, the experienced star won’t be the only midfielder who will vacate his spot ahead of the forthcoming overhaul.

The source believes that Ugarte is likely to leave the club in the summer, especially since Kobbie Mainoo has now regained his starting berth under Michael Carrick, with the club planning to extend his contract.

Ugarte has been linked with Ajax and Galatasaray in recent weeks, but he’s unlikely to leave the club this month. The same applies to Joshua Zirkzee, as the report insists that neither player is close to sealing a January exit.

With Casemiro leaving United and Ugarte potentially following him to the exit door, Man Utd could end up signing multiple midfielders in the summer.

Director of Football Jason Wilcox and his collaborators have already set a clear hierarchy for their transfer targets, with Elliot Anderson at the top of the shortlist.

The Nottingham Forest star is thus considered the club’s priority target, while Brighton’s enforcer Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s deep-lying playmaker Adam Wharton are right behind.

Man Utd’s shortlist certainly includes several other profiles, but it is becoming increasingly evident that the three aforementioned Premier League stars are the club’s main objective for the midfield revamp.

While Casemiro’s departure has already been announced, Manchester United are also expected to part ways with Manuel Ugarte.…

[563
64,63,596,85
post-440903","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-football","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-football","tag-sports
["GET
