General Hospital <\/a>star Rena Sofer (Lois) is uprooting her life as she prepares for her next chapter. Hot on the heels of Lois leaving the ABC soap,<\/a> Sofer has revealed she\u2019s moving out of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram, the actress posted a video of her and her husband, Sanford Bookstaver, announcing they are saying goodbye to Hollywood. They used Billy Joel\u2019s “New York State of Mind” to help them reveal they are moving to New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been in LA for almost 35 years and now it\u2019s time for me and @sbookstaver to go. No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams! Yes I\u2019m getting emotional. I met and had my children in LA met the man of my dreams and created an incredible life there. I had amazing success in the Biz and made all my lifelong friends who I will miss desperately. Most of all my BFF @arinacabral and my Brother @davidsofer53 !!! Thank you LA for being you,\u201d she wrote as part of her caption.<\/p>\n

The soap star shared she\u2019s ready for a different lifestyle, adding \u201cAnd now on to quieter and calmer times. Leave it to a leaf blower to finish this post, there is nothing more la!! Now we are off in our @rivianofficial with our 5 dogs in the back to our new life!!! #saygoodbyetohollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sofer popped back on the post later to let it be known that she will block any negative comments left on her social media share.<\/p>\n

General Hospital\u2019s Laura Wright (Carly) showed up in the comments with some sweet words for her co-star. \u201cSo so exciting!!!! Big love and safe travels !!!\u201d she wrote, leading Sofer to reply, \u201cthank you Laura!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

As for what this means for Lois\u2019 future on the ABC soap, fans will have to wait and see. However, just because Sofer doesn\u2019t live in Los Angeles anymore, doesn\u2019t mean Port Charles has seen the last of Lois\u2014actors and actresses commute all the time.<\/p>\n

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.<\/p>\n
