Australian influencer<\/a> Erin Oudshoorn<\/a> has announced the death of her six-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n

Luella, also known as “Lulu,” passed away after a battle with a rare form of epilepsy<\/a> called West Syndrome.<\/p>\n

Oudshoorn ran an Instagram page<\/a> called “Little Lulu Love,” documenting her daughter’s health journey, which is also where they shared the heartbreaking news that Lulu was gone. <\/p>\n

“It is with the most painful, shattered heart to share that our darling Lulu passed away peacefully in our arms yesterday, surrounded and profoundly loved by all of her extended family,” Oudshoorn wrote on Instagram on January 28.<\/p>\n

“Dave and I are just utterly broken. There simply aren’t enough words to express our agony. Our baby girl is gone.”\ufeff<\/p>\n

West Syndrome is a form of infantile spasms and seizures, usually starting in babies aged between three and 12 months, according to the Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n

The form of epilepsy is incurable.<\/p>\n

\ufeffOudshoorn previously spoke about her daughter’s health battles in a podcast episode of Mummy Village in March, 2023.<\/p>\n

Lulu’s type of epilepsy was incurable. Oudshoorn previously opened up about her daughter’s health during a March 2023 episode of the “Mummy Village” podcast.<\/p>\n

“Lulu suffers from a very rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy,” Oudshoorn said at the time.<\/p>\n

“The seizures are brutal, to be honest. She was diagnosed very young at 11 months of age.”<\/p>\n

She also added that she didn’t know the journey ahead would be so brutal for her daughter and their family.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t really know anything about epilepsy. I assumed that we would find seizure freedom and seizure relief with medication,” Oudshoorn added.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, Lulu has tried and tested about 15, and nothing worked.<\/p>\n

“The doctors also can’t find a cause for her epilepsy, so she’s left seizing all day every day and it is absolutely barbaric to watch.”<\/p>\n
