There were no fans at the Lake Tahoe game because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
“It should be a great atmosphere,” Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. “I’ve been involved in a few of these, and I’ve always enjoyed them. I didn’t like the outcome in Seattle a few years ago. I don’t think we played great with the buildup and the fact that you’re involved with. They’re always great venues, places you otherwise wouldn’t go to. I’m kind of a curious guy, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m glad they included us.”<\/p>\n
This will be the Stars\u2019 second outdoor game. They drew 85,630 fans, the third-largest crowd in NHL history, when they defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2 in the 2020 Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas.<\/p>\n
The Golden Knights have developed a strong rivalry with the Stars during their nine seasons since entering the NHL in 2017.
