Geelong dual premiership captain and AFL bigwig Tom Harley has tackled a Brighton house purchase for about $6m.<\/p>\n
The former Cats skipper was announced as the league\u2019s new chief operating officer last year.<\/p>\n
Records confirmed Harley and his wife Felicity, a podcaster, journalist and author, became the bayside home\u2019s new owners this month after buying it in 2025.<\/p>\n

Picture: NCA NewsWire\/David Crosling.<\/p>\n Across his career, Harley has received several honours including the 2008 AFL Players Association Best Captain Award.<\/p>\n He was inducted into the Geelong Hall of Fame, named as an All-Australian and took home Geelong\u2019s McClelland Trophy for two years running.<\/p>\n As a player, Harley served as an ambassador for the \u2018Just Think\u2019 campaign run by Geelong and the Geelong Advertiser newspaper to raise awareness of alcohol-fuelled violence.<\/p>\n Harley resigned from playing after his third grand final with the Cats and began working at AFL House in game development.<\/p>\n Tom Harley in the 2007 grand final against Port Adelaide, as he takes a mark over teammate Corey Enright and the opposition\u2019s Chad Cornes. Picture: Michael Klein.<\/p>\n In 2014, he became Sydney\u2019s general manager of football and then the Swans\u2019 chief executive.<\/p>\n Last year, the AFL announced Harley would serve as the league\u2019s new chief operating officer, a role he officially started in October.<\/p>\n The Brighton house which Harley and his wife purchased features an outdoor swimming pool and terrace, box bay windows, open fireplaces and a kitchen fitted with Miele appliances.<\/p>\n Automated gates, video security entry, a study and renovated ensuite with terrazzo marble floors are among its other inclusions.<\/p>\n Harley\u2019s main tasks as the AFL\u2019s chief operating officer include overseeing portfolios such as club funding, plus projects like the organisation\u2019s expansion into Tasmania and the Gather Round.<\/p>\n Sign up to the Herald Sun Weekly Real Estate Update.
