After losing Dimantha Mahavithana early in their chase, Chamuditha and Senuja Wekunagoda put their heads down and stitched together a second-wicket partnership of 143 runs. The Sri Lankan batters were conservative in their risk-taking, and kept the scoreboard ticking.

Giving another glimpse of why he has been earmarked as a future star, Chamuditha brought up his second hundred of the tournament. He struck 13 fours and a six during a well-paced innings of 110 that set up Sri Lanka for a crucial win.

There were some moments of anxiety as South African wicketkeeper Lethabo Phahlamohlaka grabbed two stunning catches, knocking Sri Lanka from a healthy 166-2 to 206 for four.

It brought down the scoring rate but didn’t derail the chase. Heentigala and Dulnith Sigera calmly navigated a tricky final phase to carry the team to victory in 46 overs.

The loss to Sri Lanka marked the end of a disappointing tournament for the Proteas, with their only win at the tournament coming against Tanzania.

After losing Dimantha Mahavithana early in their chase, Chamuditha and Senuja Wekunagoda put their heads down and stitched…

[564
64,63,740,95832,95830,95836,95846,95842,95845,95843,1950,95844,95841,95847,95853,95852,95833,7301,95851,95835,95834,90626,95839,95840,95849,85,95848,95850,95838,95831,95837
post-446327","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cricket","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-cricket","tag-cricket-breaking-news","tag-cricket-headlines-today","tag-cricket-live-score","tag-cricket-match-highlights-today","tag-cricket-match-live-streaming-score","tag-cricket-match-result-today","tag-cricket-match-today-live","tag-cricket-news","tag-cricket-results-today","tag-cricket-scorecard-live","tag-cricket-series-updates","tag-cricket-world-cup-live-score","tag-cricket-world-cup-news","tag-cricket-world-news","tag-icc","tag-icc-cricket-updates","tag-international-cricket-live-score","tag-international-cricket-news","tag-latest-cricket-news","tag-latest-cricket-scores","tag-live-cricket-match-update","tag-odi-cricket-live-score","tag-sports","tag-t20-cricket-live-score","tag-test-cricket-live-score","tag-today-cricket-live-score","tag-today-cricket-news-update","tag-todays-cricket-match-score
["GET
