An emotional Anthony Joshua<\/a> has insisted he knows what he has got to do after the death of close friends Sina Ghami and Latif \u201cLatz\u201d Ayodele last month, adding that their company was akin to \u201cwalking with giants\u201d.<\/p>\n

The two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria<\/a> on 29 December which killed Ghami and Ayodele and shocked the boxing fraternity.<\/p>\n

The sudden death of two of Joshua\u2019s inner-circle occurred weeks after he stopped YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul<\/a> in Miami to stay on course to face old foe Tyson Fury in 2026 before the crash sparked retirement rumours for the Watford boxer.<\/p>\n

In his first public video since the incident, Joshua thanks viewers of his official YouTube channel for \u201cshowing so much love, care, support through that tragic, traumatic time where we lost Latz and Sina\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last time I spoke to you guys was in Miami, we had so many plans to wrap up 2025 and we were on a mission,\u201d Joshua said. \u201cWe were on a mission \u2026 we went back home, went to see our families and everything just got flipped upside on its head.\u201d<\/p>\n

The heavyweight fought back tears as he reflected on the loss of his two \u201cbrothers\u201d and \u201clieutenants\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne day my time will come and I\u2019m not scared either at all. It\u2019s actually comforting knowing that I\u2019ve got two brothers on the other side,\u201d Joshua said. \u201cI\u2019ve lost people before, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve lost people like that, my left and my right.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout this journey I have been on, it\u2019s not easy and I didn\u2019t even realise that [yeah], I\u2019m the big guy \u2026 but I was walking with giants man that kept me protected, kept me shielded, but I understand my duty. I understand what they wanted to do for their families so what my goal is, is to continue to help them achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know in my corner of the world, I know what I\u2019ll be doing. I know what we\u2019ll be doing to continue \u2026 I don\u2019t want to say their legacy, because I had a lot of those questions about legacy during my fight in Miami.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt ain\u2019t about legacy, it\u2019s just about doing what is right and I know I am going to do what is right by them. I know what I have got to do.
