{"id":448606,"date":"2026-01-31T02:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T02:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/448606\/"},"modified":"2026-01-31T02:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T02:10:09","slug":"greg-shipperd-sacked-as-nsw-blues-and-sydney-sixers-coach-replacement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/448606\/","title":{"rendered":"Greg Shipperd sacked as NSW Blues and Sydney Sixers coach, replacement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be a coaching shake-up for both NSW and the Sydney Sixers, with confirmation on Saturday an \u201cincredibly disappointed\u201d Greg Shipperd has been axed from both roles. <\/p>\n<p>It was announced in a statement that Shipperd, who was contracted until the end of the 2026\/27 season, will leave his post at the end of the upcoming Sheffield Shield season. <\/p>\n<p>It means his tenure will wrap up one season short, with Cricket NSW chief executive Lee Germon calling it a \u201cdifficult decision\u201d after NSW\u2019s poor form in the Shield.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"i-amphtml-fill-content i-amphtml-replaced-content\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768365730_454_poster-fallback.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Sixers, meanwhile, made the BBL final but have not won a title in five years.<\/p>\n<p>Cricket NSW said it will start the process of identifying a new coach for both the NSW Blues and Sydney Sixers, with no decision yet as to whether the successful candidate will hold both positions.<\/p>\n<p>Watch AUS Tour of Pakistan: Watch every match LIVE &amp;
