Whether you\u2019re looking to try pilates, yoga, boxing or just want to go to the regular gym, ClassPass has something for everyone<\/a> on a fitness journey. Right now, ClassPass is offering one month free<\/a>! <\/p>\n In January, I took eight free classes using ClassPass. I booked popular studios that are nationwide, like F45 and The Bar Method, as well as local gyms like Landmark Athletic Fitness, Metta Yoga and Pyour Core. <\/p>\n What is ClassPass? If you\u2019ve heard of ClassPass and aren\u2019t really sure how it works, ClassPass is a credit-based membership that grants access to thousands of studios, gyms and salons in your area.<\/p>\n You will use your credits to sign up for classes in the ClassPass app. The amount of credits a class will cost varies by location, time and class type. Some classes and access to certain studios and gyms will cost more credits than others.<\/p>\n You can read more about the ClassPass credit system for membership on the features page<\/a>. There are eight membership plan options. In my area of New Jersey, ClassPass plans<\/a> start at $19\/month for eight credits and go up to $299\/month for 150 credits.<\/p>\n ClassPass Free Trial: What do you get?<\/p>\n When I signed up at the end of December, ClassPass was advertising 43 credits for the free trial. Right now, ClassPass says you\u2019ll get 48 credits<\/a> for a one-month free trial. <\/p>\n Those 48 credits can be used however you see fit. Bookings start at one credit (for select open gym sessions) and from my experience, go all the way up to 14 credits per class.<\/p>\n However, I need to note in this review that I was not given 43 credits. I only was allotted 38 credits. Shortly after I signed up, I got an email offer for 10 additional credits if I signed up for SMS text messages. I did it and I think taking that offer might have messed with the credits I was originally assigned. I unfortunately didn\u2019t realize the credit mishap until it was too late in the month. <\/p>\n Keep a closer eye on your credits if you use the free trial, I regret not noticing this sooner!<\/p>\n ClassPass Free Trial \u2013 Pros & Cons With 38 credits, I was able to book eight different classes and one open gym session. <\/p>\n You get exactly one month from when you sign up to use all of your credits. In a free trial, credits do not roll over, so I used a number of my credits in the last week of January! <\/p>\n After using ClassPass for a month, here\u2019s all of my thoughts about the free trial.<\/p>\n ProsYou get to try tons of new workoutsIt is very easy to use the app to book new classesYou can find good deals in ClassPass easily<\/p>\n During my free trial, I took hot yoga, warm sculpt, HIIT, reformer pilates, a spin class and mat pilates. That is a LOT of variety to test out for free! Some of these classes cost $20 to $45 per class. I cannot stress enough how incredible it is to have taken all of these classes completely for free. <\/p>\n I never felt pressured to sign up for a paid membership of ClassPass or a paid membership at any of the studios I went to. I\u2019ve seen people online say they felt like they\u2019re treated not-so-nicely<\/a> by studios when using ClassPass, but this wasn\u2019t my experience. I toured gyms and studios around Monmouth country. Each studio was nice, showed me around and asked if I needed anything.<\/p>\n The app is easy to use for a newbie, you can search for classes and find new studios quickly. You can also see when classes \u201cdrop\u201d in price if you mark \u201csee more like this\u201d in the app. This is a great way to find good deals on classes, where high-point classes get price slashes, like Rumble Boxing<\/a> going from 14 points to 4 points.<\/p>\n ConsYou can only book a studio onceYou can\u2019t book every studio available during a free trialDouble check your bookings, one of mine was \u201cno longer on ClassPass\u201d <\/p>\n Once you\u2019ve taken one class at a studio, you cannot book that studio again on the free trial. You need to be a paid member to book there again. You will be prompted to \u201cupgrade to a paid membership\u201d to have full access to all studios. Not every studio, gym or spa is available to book during a free trial. In particular, spas did not appear to be available at all in my ClassPass free trial.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re the kind of person who wants to book your entire month at once, you can\u2019t do that in the free trial. Some studios are only available to book within the same week, while other studios are available to book weeks ahead. This might not be specific to the free trial; it might have more to do with different studios having different booking systems<\/p>\n I booked open gym session at what was listed as a Jersey Strong gym, but it was actually a Crunch Fitness now. It has been a Crunch for nearly a year and is no longer on ClassPass. I had no idea until I got there. Crunch offers free trials, so I still got to work out, but I wasted two credits on this booking. <\/p>\n I have no idea how ClassPass could have a gym available to book that is no longer eligible and hasn\u2019t been for almost a year. I should have been wary because Crunch was the only booking I made where I didn\u2019t get a text\/email from either ClassPass or the studio about my booking. <\/p>\n But that was my only booking hiccup, the other eight classes\/sessions I booked went smoothly. <\/p>\n Is it worth it? Yes! <\/p>\n Did I mention that it is free? There is nothing to lose. Well, actually, if you\u2019re bad at canceling things, then you will lose money if you don\u2019t plan to use ClassPass afterward. You will automatically be signed up for a base plan (28 credits; $59 per month). <\/p>\n I am going to try a paid membership for the month of February to see what rebooking studios I enjoyed is like! I also want to check out those perks that are only available to members, like wellness and beauty.<\/p>\n I was sad that I couldn\u2019t rebook certain studios, as they offered very different class types, like F45 and LAF. But I am still really happy I was able to take eight completely different classes.<\/p>\n The open gym session was unfortunate and I\u2019ve contacted ClassPass to see why that happened, but haven\u2019t heard back yet. <\/p>\n I\u2019ve been only attending Rumble Boxing<\/a> for the last two years.
