Celtic are chasing Redzic while it could be one defender in and another out<\/p>\n

Celtic have stepped up their pursuit of Hungary star Damir Redzic ahead of Monday night\u2019s transfer deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Danajska Streda ace is a top target for Hoops boss Martin O\u2019Neill<\/a> and Record Sport understands that negotiations are ongoing with the Slovakian club. Frosinone winger Faris Ghedjemis is also a top target for O\u2019Neill with the Serie B leaders reportedly looking for upwards of \u00a36.5million for the Frenchman.<\/p>\n

But as the clock ticks down on the January window, Streda bosses have been playing hardball over 22-year-old wide man Redzic, and are understood to be holding out for \u00a36million as other clubs, including Red Bull Salzburg, Olympiacos and Copenhagen, also circle. Hoops boss O\u2019Neill is preparing his side to face Falkirk<\/a> on Sunday afternoon and is desperate to add an explosive forward.<\/p>\n

But Celtic<\/a> will also have their resolve tested as Italian giants Lazio and Fiorentina are considering moves for Auston Trusty. Celtic, already looking for another central defender, will try to resist any bids, especially with Cameron Carter-Vickers still out injured.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s movement in the way in that is most concerning fans. Redzic has also been on Rangers\u2019 radar this month after netting seven goals in 13 outings this season and making winning his first cap for Hungary .<\/p>\n

But the Hoops have stepped up their bid ahead of a packed final four months of the season. Redzic was a substitute yesterday as Streda drew with Trencin in a friendly.<\/p>\n

Frazer Robertson spent the first half of this season as first team coach at Streda and the Scot was blown away by Redzic\u2019s ability.<\/p>\n

He told Record Sport: \u201cDamir was the best player in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can go in behind. A lot of the time, he likes to get it at his feet, and then he likes to take people on.<\/p>\n

\u201cScoring goals, he was a big, big threat. He plays on the right but he\u2019s very much left footed, when he comes inside and finishes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ghedjemis started yesterday\u2019s 1-1 league draw with Virtus Entella.<\/p>\n
