KAUKAUNA (WLUK) — One week after Green Bay native Alex Pretti was shot by federal agents in Minneapolis, biking groups across the country held a special ride in his honor.<\/p>\n
The ride was created by Angry Catfish Bicycle Shop and Coffee Bar in Minnesota, for whom Pretti rode with.<\/p>\n
Kaukauna was among the local communities that took part in the nationwide event, with organizers at the Recyclist Bicycle Co. saying dozens of community members braved the cold to participate. <\/p>\n
Organizers say that Pretti was a kind and caring soul, and a bright light to those around him.<\/p>\n
With one saying the bike ride was a way for the cycling community to come together and heal following Pretti’s death.<\/p>\n
“Alex was a cyclist and was a helper and he was a son, and a big part of the cycling community is just that, its community,” says bicyclist Lora Glase. “Today felt like a day that people just needed to come together and heal. And also just remember who Alex was as a cyclist and a human being.”<\/p>\n
