Hong Kong actress Christy Chung<\/a>\u2019s daughter Cayla<\/a> is known for her beauty, but there\u2019s something about her that fans only learned recently.<\/p>\n

In a recent livestream, Christy, 55, revealed that her 15-year-old daughter was born with amblyopia, also known as lazy eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was born with one eye that couldn\u2019t see. It\u2019s congenital. I was taking my eldest daughter to have her eyes checked, and she was just playing [at the side],\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

Christy has two other daughters,\u00a0Yasmine Ross<\/a>, 27, from her first marriage to British businessman Glen Ross, and\u00a0Jaden<\/a>, 16, who is, like Cayla, her kids with her second hubby, music producer Jon Yen. The actress is now married to Chinese actor\u00a0Shawn Zhang<\/a>, 42.<\/p>\n

The actress did not expect her eldest daughter’s check-up would then help them discover her youngest daughter’s condition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked the doctor if he could check my daughter as well. She was five years old at the time. After examining her, he said: \u2018You must take her to see a specialist’.”<\/p>\n

Christy was shocked when she realised how serious things were. \u201cOne of her eyes was over 1,000 degrees, she basically couldn\u2019t see. She had a lazy eye. I didn\u2019t know!” she exclaimed.<\/p>\n

Thinking back, Christy admitted she felt guilty for overlooking the problem for so long, especially since her daughter was only five at that time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was so young, and she didn\u2019t know either. Since birth, she could only see with one eye,” said Christy.<\/p>\n

The actress, however, praised her daughter\u2019s for overcoming her condition herself:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s amazing, you know? She covered the stronger eye for two years to train the weaker one. Her vision improved from over 1,000 degrees down to 500,” she beamed.<\/p>\n
